Leonardo Bonucci is no longer a key figure in the project at Juventus and his agent has started looking around for a new club, reports suggest.

The 36-year-old Italian centre back struggled for consistent playing time under Massimiliano Allegri this campaign, seeing just 870 minutes of action across 16 Serie A appearances, blighted by injury troubles and tactical decisions.

With a year left on his contract with Juventus, it’s clear that Bonucci is entering the twilight of his career and Juventus are starting to look ahead to the future.

Pages two to five of today’s Tuttosport are dedicated to Bonucci’s future, highlighting how the Juventus management want to start building from a defence of Danilo and Gleison Bremer, with Federico Gatti and Daniele Rugani as the backups.

Considering possible new arrivals, then, there’s little space for the veteran defender. The Bianconeri are willing to let the 36-year-old leave this summer and have communicated this to his agent Alessandro Lucci, who is already looking around for a new home for his client.

There’s also the possibility that Juventus will contribute to his €12m gross per season wages, allowing a loan exit.
