Milan‘s attack for 2023-24 takes shape following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s retirement with Lorenzo Colombo returning to the Stadio Meazza and talks ongoing for Marcus Thuram.

The Rossoneri are preparing for life after the retirement of the 41-year-old who posted a touching message on Instagram on Friday.

The product of club academy Colombo is set to return to the Stadio Meazza from Lecce.

After a one-year loan, the Giallorossu had used their €2.5m option to buy, but Milan re-signed the player for €3.5m. The 21-year-old could remain at the Stadio Meazza becoming the third-choice centre-forward in 2023-24.

Olivier Giroud is expected to be the main striker next season after extending his contract until June 2024, but Milan hope to add his compatriot Thuram to the team.

The France international is available as a free agent and Milan have reportedly raised their offer to sign him as a free agent in July.

Contrary to PSG, who offer a higher salary, Milan have put on the table a central role in their long-term project.

Should Milan complete Thuram’s signature, Stefano Pioli will have his three centre-forwards ready before the start of the pre-season.

Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata is one of Milan’s main alternatives to Thuram if the France striker rejects their offer.
