There are reports in Germany and Italy that Roma sent a €15m proposal to Borussia Monchengladbach for Swiss international defender Nico Elvedi.
The Giallorossi are busy strengthening their defence and have already announced a new contract for Chris Smalling today.
Both Bild and Sportitalia maintain Elvedi is the subject of a €15m offer from Jose Mourinho’s side.
The 26-year-old made 34 competitive appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach this season, also scoring three goals, confirming his strength on set plays.
Elvedi has 45 senior caps for Switzerland, contributing one goal.
However, Roma also need to sell someone first and director of sport Tiago Pinto has been in London over the last couple of days to discuss selling Roger Ibanez to Tottenham Hotspur.
