Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton are reportedly close to signing Watford striker Joao Pedro who had emerged as a transfer target for Serie A giants Milan.
The Brazilian forward has scored 11 goals in 35 appearances this season and has been tracked by several top European clubs, including Milan.
However, Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that De Zerbi’s Brighton are close to securing his signature. According to the Italian transfer expert, there’s an agreement in principle between the two clubs, while the 21-year-old has already shaken hands with the Seagulls.
Joao Pedro sparked transfer speculation during the international break in March when he was spotted in Milan. However, his agent told The Athletic that no negotiations were in place with the Rossoneri.
Milan will be looking for a new centre forward in the summer, given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to leave at the end of his contract in June.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Thursday that Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic is the latest target monitored by Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.
Even Amad has scored more goals than him. Hardly set the championship alight.
