Inter, Fiorentina and Napoli have already qualified for the 2024 Supercoppa, which will be played with a new format involving four clubs.

Lega Serie A agreed to a new format for the Supercoppa in March. It will no longer only involve the Coppa Italia and Serie A winners, but will be extended to the Coppa Finalists and the league runners-up.

This means that Inter and Fiorentina, this season’s Coppa Finalists, will surely play the Supercoppa next year and the same is true of Napoli, who are close to winning their first Scudetto in 33 years and will mathematically finish at least second.

The Partenopei will already win the Serie A title over the weekend if they beat Salernitana and Lazio, currently sitting second, fail to win against Inter at San Siro.

There’s only one spot left for the new Supercoppa, which will be filled by the second-placed in Serie A.

Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio would be qualified now, but Juventus, Milan, Roma, Inter and Atalanta are still in the race for the second spot in the league table. If the Nerazzurri finish runner-up, the third-placed in Serie A will play the Supercoppa in Saudi Arabia in January 2024.
