Salernitana are circling dangerously close to the relegation zone and briefly dismissed coach Davide Nicola before rehiring him only days later. The team have only picked up one point from their last five league outings and sit nine points ahead of relegation candidates Hellas Verona.
Napoli cannot count on the injured Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Juan Jesus. Salernitana are without Luigi Sepe, Federico Fazio, Pasquale Mazzocchi, Dylan Bronn and Giulio Maggiore.
