Azzedine Ounahi is waiting for Napoli to submit a new offer but the Campania outfit have no intention of matching Leeds United’s latest bid, reports highlight.
The 22-year-old Moroccan midfielder has been quietly impressing with Angers for a little while now but shot to prominence after his incredible work at the World Cup in Qatar, where the Atlas Lions reached a historic fourth place finish. Ounahi looks destined to leave relegation candidates Angers this month and he’s attracted the attention of a number of clubs, including Napoli.
As reported by Il Mattino, Ounahi’s preferred club is Napoli and he’s already agreed personal terms with the club, happy with a five-year deal worth €1.8m net per season. The Partenopei aren’t willing to carry out a bidding war with Leeds United, however, and so won’t match their €25m offer.
Leicester City are also interested and Napoli aren’t keen to compete with clubs who have access to far greater resources.
Poor lad, looks like his talent is going to be wasted in a league where he does not belong.
