The FIGC has unveiled the new version of the Italy badge, which now comes complete with a ‘sound identity’ to represent the Azzurri from 2023.
It is part of an overall rebranding campaign, which includes the switch from kit sponsors Puma to Adidas.
The new badge still has the four stars to represent the four World Cup trophies won by Italy in 1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006.
It also has the colours of the Italian flag, in a shape similar to that of the Scudetto, the name of the Serie A league title.
The launch included the motto Created By Emotions, but also has with it a ‘sound identity’ in the form of a three-second sound logo, but also an extended track called Azzurri, composed by Enrico Giaretta and Maurizio D’Aniello.
I like it. But wish the 4 stars are still gold one.
The current one is much nicer
Pity Italy doesn’t spend as much time fixing its league and national team as it does on dumb logos and shirt changes.
Are the four stars for World Cups won or for Euro?
Please, someone help with an answer
The four stars are for the World Cups won, O’Gabbs!
Feeban, top comment! Lol
Thanks Nwannem! In that case, Italian clubs should have the UCL won to represent the number of stars on the badge.
