Kristian Asllani has taken Inter by storm following his arrival, immediately managing to impress Simone Inzaghi and everyone else in the Nerazzurri environment.

The 20-year-old Albanian midfielder broke into Empoli’s first team last season and quickly attracted the attention of Beppe Marotta, who kept a close eye on him before making a €16m move. His arrival was much anticipated in the Lombardy capital and he’s certainly not disappointed.

calciomercato.com details how Asllani had a great game in the pre-season friendly against Lugano, always being on the move, asking for the ball and acting as a key reference point in the midfield. He immediately seemed to fit Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system and he could easily be more important than simply a backup to Marcelo Brozovic.

Asllani is a confident and progressive midfielder who has good stamina and pressing skills, keen to act as a metronomic figure in the centre of the pitch. Inzaghi could look to deploy him alongside Brozovic in the midfield, something which could be seen in the coming weeks.

  1. Really exciting player indeed. But let’s not make mistakes from the past f.i. like with Coutinho and blow up the pressure too heavily. Inzaghi and the teammates will be key in this, apart from fencing his head off the media. That being said, if at least he’s less injury prone than Sensi, good times are ahead.
