According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sven Botman and Charles De Ketelaere are determined to snub Newcastle United and Leicester City offers to join Milan.

The Rossoneri are on the lookout for a new centre-back and an attacking midfielder and have been in talks with both players for a long time. Botman’s agents reached an agreement in principle with Milan in February, but the Rossoneri and Lille haven’t agreed on the player’s price tag yet.

According to Gazzetta, Milan offered €30m to sign the Dutch defender, but the interest from Premier League clubs, especially Newcastle United, has increased the player’s price tag.

Newcastle issue ultimatum over Milan target Botman

Reports in the UK suggest that the Magpies have recently issued an ultimatum to Botman, warning his entourage that they’d pounce on a different target if the defender doesn’t agree to move to St James’ Park in the coming days.

De Ketelaere is in a similar situation as he also prefers Milan to the Premier League, where Leicester City are ready to offer €35m to secure his signature. Yet again, Milan have yet to shake hands with Club Brugge, but are aware that a move to the Stadio Meazza remains the player’s priority.

  1. Well the problem is milan doesn’t have any money so the players can want to come as much as they want. They will eventually decide to go to the EPL.

  2. I don’t know about Botman but this De Ketelaere guy needs to be wrapped up. Seems like the guy to add to the squad.

  3. George, where are you hearing that from?
It’s not like we haven’t splashed some cash the last few years, and we are in a much better place now than then. More sponsorship, significantly lower wage bill, more money through CL and the scudetto win.
I trust our budget is around 100mil. We did just get 15 mil for Hauge.

Our defense isn’t the area I’d look to improve first though. If we could convince Bremer to stay until January, then he’d be available for 15mil. But I know the Tomori-Kalulu is weak in the air, so I guess that’s why they’ve targeted Botman.
I anticipate Botman, Renato Sanches, De Ketelaere, an Italian Left Back like Cambiaso/Parisi, Origi and maybe one more big name. Could be Scamacca or a RW.

  4. I support the club. 30m for each player is fair. No need to bend over to this madness started by Premier League clubs.

If the player wants Milan their club have no choice but to sell eventually. If they choose money then good for them they can move to Premier League clubs. Maldini and co will seek an alternative.

  5. @Toon Expat, unfortunately, since you’ve become a petroclub, no player is going to be moving to Newcastle because they’ve got their heart set on it. Do you think all of those players that arrived in January for inflated fees and salaries came because they were relishing the relegation fight? Did they come because of all of the trophies won in years past? Players will come to your midtable club because they’re getting paid top dollar to do so. Sorry mate, it’s just fact. You will be competing now, but don’t kid yourself that it’s all because of some kind of purity of heart.

  6. George..you are clueless. Who would want to go to either EPL squads. Neither are Champions League and Neither are in Europa League. Jesuse they didn’t even qualify for the Europa Conference league..

Going to either team is 10 steps backwards for their career.

    George please get a clue…joker

  7. @ George

We got about mill and change to spend and IF we sell rafa we got twice as much… so yeah we got some…
