Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent Fali Ramadani has asked Barcelona for financial guarantees ahead of any potential move, according to reports in Catalonia.

Despite ambitious summer transfer plans, Barca remain in some economic difficulty.

And Sport report Koulibaly is one of a number of targets who remains reluctant to commit due to concerns over financial guarantees.

Reports suggested president Joan Laporta inherited over €1 billion worth of debt when he was named Barca president in March 2021.

And, although some of that has been recouped with several high earners having been offloaded and a lucrative sponsorship deal with Spotify, there remains the expectation that the club must sell a big player this summer.

Koulibaly has been at Napoli since 2014 when he joined from Genk and has developed into one of the world’s best defenders.

Despite regular links with moves away from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Koulibaly has stayed with the club but could finally be on his way out as Napoli to look to make several changes to their playing staff this summer.

  1. 100% fantacalcio. ADL is tough to negotiate, Koulibaly is a high earner and Barcelona is in bankrupt. This won’t happen

  2. Hopefully he can stay with Napoli for as long as he can. What a special player he is. I wouldn’t mind him going to other clubs in the Serie A either.

  3. Barca cant afford anything so this is good news. Now its time for Juve to swoop in with Demiral and cash for Koulibaly

  4. Koulibaly said he won’t go to another team in serie. The most likely destination seems to me to be P$G
