Napoli are reportedly closing on a deal for Georgia international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, previously linked with Milan.

The 21-year-old plays primarily on the left wing of an attacking trident, but can also do a job on the right or in a supporting striker role.

He is owned by Rubin Kazan and currently playing on loan in Georgia with Dinamo Batumi, having been released on March 24 following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

According to Sportitalia transfer experts Alfredo Pedullà and Gianluigi Longari, Napoli have agreed basic terms with Kvaratskhelia and are confident they can get a deal done with Rubin Kazan too.

The asking price is believed to be circa €15m, not entirely unreasonable considering he only turned 21 last month.

His previous clubs include Dinamo Dbilisi and Lokomotiv Moscow, while he had been linked with a move to Milan last year.

Kvaratskhelia has an impressive five goals in 13 senior caps for Georgia.

As for the current campaign, he scored twice and provided five assists in 19 Premier Liga appearances.

  1. This kid is a rockstar – not sure why Milan isn’t pulling the trigger on him. He may not want to play second fiddle to Theo but he can be used on the RT and would be an upgrade to whatever we’re fielding on that side currently. Could also step in for Theo on the left to give him more breaks.
