The Milan players took to social media to celebrate their important 2-1 derby win over Inter last night.

The Rossoneri fell 1-0 down in the first half following an Ivan Perisic goal, but two goals in three minutes from Olivier Giroud turned the game of it’s head, giving Stefano Pioli’s side an important three points as they look to stay involved in the title race this season.

Giroud, who was called ‘the hero of the evening’ by the Italian press, was clear in his celebration, saying: “The derby is won. We are back!”

Rafael Leao, who played the full 90 minutes in the match, focused his attention of the fans in the post-match celebrations, saying: “Great win tonight! Thanks to all the fans for the support! We goo.”

Sandro Tonali felt the importance of the occasion; the 21-year-old Italian midfielder performed well in the match, continuing his impressive growth this season. In reaction to the win, Tonali simply said “Chills.”

Theo Hernandez used the derby win over Inter to proclaim that the Lombardy capital is owned by one team, highlighting that “Milan is red and black.”

Finally, Mike Maignan told a humorous story in celebration of the win; the French goalkeeper was one of the best players on the pitch, making four key saves to keep the Rossoneri in the match. He recounted something that happened before kick off.

“Yesterday when I wanted to park my car at the stadium:

“The valet: sorry but today your car must stay outside! It’s Inter’s home this weekend!

“Me: you just changed the scenery without my permission! San Siro was presented to me as the home of Milan.”

  1. Maignan’s humor is as good as his goal keeping abilities lol

Meanwhile, Tonali is fast becoming my favorite player. A true Rossonero.
