Stefano Colantuono admits it ‘might sound laughable, but I really liked the first half performance’ of Salernitana’s 4-0 defeat to Fiorentina.
This was a fourth consecutive loss without finding the net and Dusan Vlahovic ran wild with a brace, plus Giacomo Bonaventura and Youssef Maleh on target.
“We did well in the first half and didn’t really suffer any more than was to be expected,” Colantuono told DAZN.
“We made life difficult for ourselves with the second goal and it becomes tough against a Fiorentina side who pass the ball so well. We lost it with the first two goals.
“With all things considered, I really liked the first half performance. Of course, some might find that laughable after a 4-0 defeat.”
Joel Obi was moved into a more advanced role behind the strikers and caused some issues for Fiorentina in the first half.
“I liked his approach, he is a versatile player who knows how to move. Unfortunately, he too had a few fitness problems and had to play anyway.”
