Milan Skriniar confirms he is ‘staying at Inter’ and already in regular contact with new coach Simone Inzaghi even during Euro 2020.
The defender played for Slovakia in this afternoon’s 1-0 defeat to Sweden, having scored in the opening 2-1 victory over Poland.
“It’s disappointing to have lost, as we played well and showed we are a team with a strong mentality,” Skriniar told Sky Sport Italia.
“We tried to the end, but unfortunately were unable to score. I feel responsible for my teammates and want to give my support, both in defence and attack. I feel good and Slovakia are playing well.
“Qualification is now difficult, but it’s not impossible. We have to beat Spain and we’ll continue believing as long as we can.”
He might be on international duty, but Skriniar was also asked about his club situation after Antonio Conte walked away, to be replaced by Inzaghi.
“Inzaghi wrote to me after the goal against Poland, but he’d written before that too. We’ve been in contact.
“I am happy that the Nerazzurri fans are supporting me and I want to thank them. I am staying at Inter.”
