The report claims Sarri and the patron are close to reaching an agreement and will have another meeting next week to work out the details of a possible deal.

Sarri has been linked with a return to the dugout in Serie A in recent weeks too, with rumours of a surprise return to Napoli, or to replace Paulo Fonseca at Roma.

The 62-year-old won first trophy during his one season at Chelsea, when he picked up the Europa League title, before securing his first Scudetto when Juventus won their ninth on the bounce last term.
