Eden Hazard is expected to miss the Champions League games between Real Madrid and Atalanta with yet another injury.

The Belgium international has been beset by fitness problems since making the move from Chelsea for €115m in the summer of 2019.

According to Marca, as reported by Football Espana, Hazard could be out for four to six weeks.

The diagnosis confirmed by the official Real Madrid website is of a “muscle injury in the rectus femoris of his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”

Real Madrid are due to face Atalanta in the Champions League Round of 16, with the first leg on February 24 in Bergamo.

At this point, it looks as if Hazard will be racing against time to feature at least in the second leg in Madrid on March 16.
