Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini has revealed that the French winger Franck Ribery will still need “a month” to recover from his surgery.

The former Bayern Munich star has been out since late November, after suffering a serious ankle injury against Lecce.

The problem required surgery and Iachini will be careful with their star man and won’t rush him back, but also recognises his value off the pitch.

The former Bayern Munich star has been out since late November, after suffering a serious ankle injury against Lecce.

The problem required surgery and Iachini will be careful with their star man and won’t rush him back, but also recognises his value off the pitch.

“It will take some more time,” Iachini said at a press conference. “He is the our Ibrahimovic of Milan. He’s important for us both on and off the pitch.

“We won’t have him available for a month or 40 days. We can’t rush him; he needs to be sure the rehabilitation goes well.

“We are waiting for him and the group knows that we must enter the pitch for Ribery as well, to give him serenity and faith.”
