Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis revealed on Wednesday that he viewed Maldini as a ‘central’ part of his plans for the club, and the Rossoneri icon suggested he was likelier to stay than follow Leonardo and Gennaro Gattuso out of San Siro.

“I’ll give Gazidis my answer shortly,” he told DAZN.

“Things will be settled by the end of this week. I’ll give my answer this week. I have to see everything, things must be explained to you properly.

The 50-year-old would have been offered more powers than those currently afforded to him in his position of sporting strategy and development director.
