Juventus are linked with David De Gea, but it’s unlikely they’ll pay the £75m asking price when Manchester United can lose him for free in 2020.

The goalkeeper has repeatedly been associated with a move elsewhere, above all to Real Madrid, but their purchase of Thibaut Courtois seems to have scuppered that idea.

According to The Sun, “sources close to both” Juventus and Manchester United claim the Bianconeri are the favourites for De Gea.

According to The Sun, “sources close to both” Juventus and Manchester United claim the Bianconeri are the favourites for De Gea.

However, the Premier League outfit can only trigger an option to extend his contract to June 2020 and are demanding £75m just 12 months off him becoming a free agent.

Juve have no need for a new goalkeeper, as they have Wojciech Szczesny and already signed his future replacement, Italy international Mattia Perin.

The Bianconeri snapped 26-year-old Perin up from Genoa over the summer for €12m and are letting him settle in before ultimately taking over from Szczesny next year.
