Giorgio Chiellini insists Juventus aren’t out for revenge against Real Madrid, but “that doesn’t mean we can’t beat them”.

The Bianconeri were beaten 4-1 in last season’s Champions League final, and they’ll face Los Merengues again in tomorrow’s Quarter-Final first leg.

“No revenge, we have positive and negative memories against everyone,” Chiellini shrugged, sitting alongside Max Allegri in the pre-match Press conference.

“No revenge, we have positive and negative memories against everyone,” Chiellini shrugged, sitting alongside Max Allegri in the pre-match Press conference.

“If you want to get to the Champions League you have to play the big clubs, we also have good memories, Cardiff apart.

“Playing the best is always a great incentive.

“There’s respect and esteem, but that doesn’t mean we can’t beat them. There’s respect for everyone, and when you face a team you really respect it’s even better to beat them.

“The differences from the final? We’re playing two games, not one, and we’ve changed as players.

“We need to put our qualities on show for as long as possible, we need enthusiasm from everyone. We need the fans, because Real can let you believe you’re in control of a match and then hurt you.”

Chiellini was also asked what the Old Lady had learned from past games.

“[Cristiano] Ronaldo will always score against everyone. Real aren’t just him, but over the years he’s raised them up and he makes the difference.

“It’s presumptuous to think that you can mark him out of a game. It’ll also take luck, it comes down to incidents.”
