Juventus will win the Scudetto again, easily. They are on another level. The team and the structure of the club are super, while on the bench Max Allegri is much stronger than the others. We do speak every now and then and there is still affection,” Cassano told the Corriere dello Sport.

“Paulo Dybala is a fine player, but not a champion. Last season he was in great form and compared to Leo Messi, but I had to laugh. Let’s not even joke about such things, please. Leo is on another level.”

Yet Allegri and Juventus were criticised in comparison with Sarri’s Napoli for their style of football.

“Who says Napoli play the best football in Italy? Sarri knows how to get decent players working together, but dealing with champions and getting results the way Allegri, Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Fabio Capello and Pep Guardiola do is much more complicated.

“I wouldn’t want to be trained by Sarri.”

It’s not just in Serie A where Cassano has been venting his frustration.

“The current price structure in football is ridiculous. If Coutinho, who is not a champion, was paid €160m by Barcelona, then Messi must cost €600m and Cristiano Ronaldo €400m.

“With these figures, Lorenzo Insigne is worth at least €100-110m.”
