Torino have officially extended Andrea Belotti’s contract to 2021 and confirmed “a €100m release clause valid only for abroad.”

The striker has been on sensational form in 2016 and become a regular starter for Italy as well.

The announcement was made on Sunday evening after President Urbano Cairo received an award.

“I am pleased to tell you that we have renewed the contract with our Belotti to 2021 and we put in a release clause, valid only for abroad, worth €100m.”

Many Serie A clubs are now inserting these release clauses that are not valid for other Italian teams, as they wish to avoid a repeat of Juventus activating the clause in contracts for Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic.
