The Roma captain turns 40 on Tuesday September 27 and we have a series of special features marking the momentous occasion.

SportWeek asked some of Totti’s most important co-workers over the years to choose an ideal gift and there was a common theme.

“I’d get him the DeLorean from Back to the Future,” said Coach Spalletti.

“That way he could choose whether to go back and fill us with yet more wonderful moves or go forward and see what’s out there for him.”

Capello won the Scudetto with Totti in 2001 and has a similar approach.
“I’d give Francesco the opportunity to get younger, so we can always see him as handsome as his football.”

Morgan De Sanctis also wants “a time machine so we can enjoy another 20 years of his football.”

Former teammate Simone Perrotta would give him “a little more football, at least one more year,” while Montella goes for “another two years on his contract, because he still has fun and moves the fans.”

Zdenek Zeman and director Walter Sabatini took a different tack and said for his 40th birthday they would give Totti “the Ballon d’Or.”

Finally, Roma legend Bruno Conti would “gift him a museum at the Trigoria camp, because he takes our image all over the world.”
