Milan’s M’Baye Niang says he has learned from previous mistakes and is ready to show it.
The French forward has endured a controversial career to date and was involved in a car collision earlier this year, putting him out of action for the season.
“As far as the accident goes, it served as a lesson to me,” Niang revealed in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. “I was out for three months, I know that the team needed me and I was very sorry."
The 21-year-old also accepts there may be criticism of him after he was reported to have jumped off a roof into a swimming pool in June, shortly after his recovery from the incident.
“It was a game I didn’t see anything bad about. I didn’t think about the consequences. I understand that, after an injury like mine, people might think I am stupid!
“I feel like I am maturing, they are all experiences that have made me grow up. The important thing is to have learned from mistakes.
“I have grown as a man and as a player.”
Niang featured in the Rossoneri’s latest pre-season friendly, a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
