“Unfortunately it happens. We hope we can get back on track as soon as the next match. I think everyone felt it a bit, we hope to get back to the level of this year’s Napoli on Sunday [against Verona].
“There’s no need to give Kalidou a wake-up call, he’s aware when he plays badly and he’s the first to be disappointed.
“He has matured so much after his first year with [Rafa] Benitez, with a guy like [goalkeeper Pepe] Reina behind him who gives him so much confidence as well as tips in the game and in training.
“He’s aware that he can get to great levels, he’s realised he can get to the very top in football by following the advice of [Maurizio] Sarri and his staff.”
