Fabrizio Castori insists Carpi deserved more than a 1-1 draw against Inter. “We had a clear penalty and a goal disallowed.”

The minnows grabbed the equaliser in stoppages with Kevin Lasagna after Lorenzo Pasciuti was sent off.

“I am very happy with the draw at San Siro, but I’m also annoyed because despite the goal incorrectly disallowed and a penalty not given, we got the point and deserved far more,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am very happy with the draw at San Siro, but I’m also annoyed because despite the goal incorrectly disallowed and a penalty not given, we got the point and deserved far more,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The important thing was that we kept our cool and didn’t let the tension of the situation get to us. We always played with our characteristics and absolutely deserved to draw even a man down.”

Carpi had a dismal start to the campaign and Castori was sacked, but since his recall and the dismissal of director Sean Sogliano they have been unrecognisable.

“We have got back to doing what we did in Serie B last season, bringing back the players we had and using my old training methods.

“I don’t want to go back over what happened and the changes the previous directors wanted to make, but now we are back to being Carpi.

“The team we saw at San Siro today was my Carpi, the same side that won the Serie B title last year.”
