Bayern Munich director Andreas Jung says they ‘wanted to avoid Juventus’ in today’s Champions League last 16 draw.

The two clubs were put together in Nyon this morning, with the first leg due to take place at Juventus Stadium on February 23.

Bianconeri vice-President Pavel Nedved reacted to the draw earlier by saying he’d ‘had better days’.

The Bavarian giants are one of the favourites to win the competition and have former Juve players Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman in their squad.

"I don’t think that the pressure is only on us, because Juventus are a big club,” Jung said to Mediaset.

“We wanted to avoid them, we’ve had a more complicated draw.

“Both teams have major ambitions, last year Juventus reached the final.”
