“We have to find our rhythm quickly,” Klose told Kicker.

“We need to play like we did last year. We’ve known about this match for a long time, we have to work.

“Bayer Leverkusen are very compact, they move as one, they’re tactically very well-drilled by their Coach.

“I saw them last season, and I was really impressed.

“Since the two teams are equal, it will be important to make fewer mistakes than our opponents. We’ve seen that they have weaknesses, and we’ll try to take advantage of them.

“We want to make the most of home advantage, using the support of our fans to swing the match in our favour because I’m expecting two very intense games.

”The 37-year-old was also asked whether this would be his last season before retirement, but refused to commit either way.

“I’ll play as long as I’m having fun. For now I’m only focused on Lazio, I’d like to play for them in the Champions League. I can’t say for certain what will happen after.”
