The Sea Horses held out for a 0-0 draw at Marassi, where Samp are still unbeaten this season.
“We had only one way of getting a result and that was to fight all together for every ball,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We managed it and I particularly thank Davide Succi and Massimo Volta for leading a fantastic group. I also thank the fans for supporting us throughout.
“I want the team to ignore the table and focus only on our football. That is all. With that attitude, we almost won at the 95th minute.
“It’s true, we have some limitations, but we try to make up for them with heart and grit. We need to be more clinical in attack, as we had three or four chances, but this is the right spirit.
“Let’s not forget Sampdoria threw four great strikers against us, so it was not easy to defend a clean sheet.”
