Pippo Inzaghi welcomed Suso and Alessio Cerci to Milan, while he’s “happy” for Fernando Torres in Madrid.

This morning Suso officially completed his transfer by signing a four-and-a-half-year contract, arriving six months earlier than expected from Liverpool.

“We are very happy to have Suso here and the fact he arrived early means he’ll be given more of an opportunity to acclimatise,” said the Coach.

This morning Suso officially completed his transfer by signing a four-and-a-half-year contract, arriving six months earlier than expected from Liverpool.

“We are very happy to have Suso here and the fact he arrived early means he’ll be given more of an opportunity to acclimatise,” said the Coach.

“Suso can give us an important hand this season. He has great quality and can also play in a more central role.

“Suso is here because Riccardo Saponara wanted more playing time and we could not guarantee him that. I think going to Empoli on loan was the right decision for him and hope he’ll return in June.”

Cerci arrived in an exchange of 18-month loans with Torres, but the centre-forward has already rediscovered his mojo at Atletico Madrid, bagging a brace against Real Madrid this week.

“Cerci played a great game on Tuesday in the Coppa Italia and can be an added value to the squad. I am very happy with his attitude and humility.

“I am happy for Torres, just as I am happy with the way Cerci has started at Milan.”

When asked about potential reinforcements considering long-term injuries to Mattia De Sciglio and Cristian Zapata, Inzaghi was hesitant.

“In the middle of defence we are fine, but the problem is full-backs because without De Sciglio we only have three. If the opportunity arises on the market, we’ll take it.”
