Ex-Milan midfielder Adel Taarabt has defined Mario Balotelli as just a 'normal player' with 'a strong shot but no teamwork'.

The Moroccan midfielder spent half a season with the Rossoneri from January 2014 and had a chance to play with Super Mario, who was being touted at the time as Italy's next big star for the World Cup in Brazil.

But Taarabt says he was not that impressed with the Italian and thinks the Liverpool striker is overrated.

But Taarabt says he was not that impressed with the Italian and thinks the Liverpool striker is overrated.

“Everybody told me he was amazing,” Taarabt said at Sky Football Night. “I played with him and I can confirm he's good, but he didn't seem like a world-class player to me.

“He has a strong shot but he doesn't play for the team.

“Or if he does, then he doesn't score, which is the case now in Liverpool.

“He had a lot of chances, from Manchester City to Milan, and he threw them away.”
