Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo report that Milan defender Phillipe Mexes is set to secure a transfer to PSG.

The Rossoneri’s recent acquisition of Brazilian centre-back Alex, who himself arrived from the French champions, is said to have made Mexes surplus to requirements at San Siro.

The 32-year-old is claimed to be keen on moving back to his homeland and the report states he would be a replacement for Marquinhos, who is wanted by Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are currently said to be in negotiations for defender Marquinhos’ signature, but PSG reportedly want to bring in Mexes as cover before allowing their current player to leave.
