Milan’s Nigel De Jong says he is happy with current Coach Clarence Seedorf, despite the tactician’s seemingly inevitable departure from San Siro.

The Dutchman took over the Rossoneri in January and oversaw an overall improvement in the team’s form, but it was not enough to secure Europa League qualification.

Media speculation has strongly linked Sevilla Coach Unai Emery with the post but, speaking to Dutch media, Seedorf’s compatriot De Jong backed the current boss and praised his winning mentality.

“From a personal point of view I am happy,” De Jong told Algemeen Dagblad. “I have played a lot of matches and I have also started scoring goals.

“Seedorf? He became our Coach during the course of the season, we know each other well and we are from similar backgrounds

“We have the same winning mentality, neither of us will ever lose our identity.”
