The Giallorossi’s weekend fixture at home to Parma was called off after less than 15 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch, with the Italian capital having been hit through the weekend with heavy rain.

With floods in the city still to contend with, Il Mattino and the Gazzetta dello Sport this morning speculate that Wednesday evening’s Coppa Italia first-leg semi-final at the Olimpico between Roma and Napoli may also be at risk.

It is believed, beyond the possibility of the rain directly causing the midweek fixture’s postponement, that the demand on authorities to deal with the flooding in the city may not leave enough resources free to police it.
