Allegri’s position with the Rossoneri is hanging by a thread following Sunday’s 4-3 defeat at strugglers Sassuolo, which has left the club on 22 points from the first round of League fixtures.

Speculation has been that Clarence Seedorf was favourite to come in during the summer, but with the Dutchman still playing with Botafogo, youth team boss Pippo Inzaghi is seen as in line to step up immediately, to see out the season.
Reports are that the retired striker has already been contacted by Diavolo officials and is set to meet with them on Monday to outline the change of position.
It is understood that a meeting between President Silvio Berlusconi and Vice-President and CEO Adriano Galliani will first take place, to ratify the club’s choice of replacement.
