Milan have today announced an extension of their partnership with kit manufacturers Adidas through to 2023.

The German brand have had a deal in place to provide the Rossoneri’s kit and training gear until the end of the 2016-17 campaign, but today has seen confirmation that that is extended for another six years.

“From today, we are AC Milan 2023. Milan and Adidas, after a glorious past together are now panning the future,” Milan’s Press release on the news today read.

The German brand have had a deal in place to provide the Rossoneri’s kit and training gear until the end of the 2016-17 campaign, but today has seen confirmation that that is extended for another six years.

“From today, we are AC Milan 2023. Milan and Adidas, after a glorious past together are now panning the future,” Milan’s Press release on the news today read.

“Prior to the start of the unforgettable Berlusconi era, Milan and Adidas were together for the 1978-79 season title winning season. That title was won again in 1990 and 1993 both in Europe and the world.

“The two paths then divided only to be joined up again in the summer of 1998. The club were on the back of two less than winning seasons, but the three German stripes helped put things back on track. The 16th title was won in 1998-99, 20 years are the 10th title.

“German international Christian Zeigi was in that Milan side, the same nationality as the founding father of the brand Adi Dassler, the man who put the shoes on the great Jesse Owens in the Olympics played in Berlin in 1936. Together for the last 15 years, the most decorated club in the world has won three league titles, 1 Club World Cup, 2 Champions Leagues, 2 European Supercups, 1 Italian Cup and 2 Italian Supercups.”

Financial aspects to the deal are yet to be revealed.
