The youngster drew attention to himself last term for his form with the Nerazzurri’s primavera unit, specifically under Andrea Stramaccioni in the NextGen Series in March, when he scored five goals on the team’s path to winning the tournament.

With Stramaccioni now in charge of the senior side and Longo still scoring goals – he recently netted a hat-trick against Milan’s youth – the forward has been called up to the full pre-season for a chance to shine.

It is one that has delighted the boy and has left him motivated to try to stay with the club, as rumours suggest a loan move is on the cards.

“I’m very happy to be here. The Coach and the club have given me this great opportunity and I will try to make the most of it,” declared the 20-year-old on Italia 1.

“For me it is a source of prode and I’m delighted. Will I stay or go away? As I have said, for me to be here already is a great chance, so we will see later if I will stay. I will give everything to stay at Inter.”

The youngster revealed his point of focus in training is trying to emulate Diego Milito.

“How does he score so many? I don’t know, I’m quite impressed. Every shot he has turns into a goal.”
