Giuseppe Rossi’s agent has hinted that the crocked star could be set for a transfer this August, even if no-one has yet contacted him.

Rossi’s team Villarreal were relegated at the end of the Spanish season, leading to much speculation that the forward would be leaving, with a return to Serie A suggested.

This is despite him still being seven months away from recovery on a second cruciate knee ligament injury that he sustained in April.

His agent has admitted that no-one has yet to come in for him, but suggests that a move as soon as next month may take shape.

“I read that Roma [were interested], but sincerely, no one has contacted us,” stated Federico Pastorello on Sky Sport Italia.

“Meanwhile, there’s nothing in Napoli’s [rumoured] offer either.

“[Napoli President Aurelio] De Laurentiis likes him, as he stated himself, but the operation will take form in the second half of August.”
