The Tardini outfit bought a 50 per cent share in the player from Juventus over the summer after impressing on loan for the outfit in 2010-11.
“It’s absurd that no other clubs tried to take us on when we signed him in a co-ownership deal with Juventus,” the official told Radio Mana Mana.
“As a director, I’m very attached to Sebastian. He is a great player and one who deserves to play on the biggest stages.”
Giovinco has scored nine goals in 19 League games so far this season and faces Juve this evening – the club some are tipping him to re-join in the summer.
“It is difficult to say what his future will be,” Leonardi, a former employee of the Old Lady, continued.
“To talk about what may happen in June now would be showing a lack of respect to the Parma fans.
“Giovinco, thanks to his performances, is illustrating that he is a great player. If a foreigner did what he is doing then he’d be appreciated more.”
