Bologna proved a point with victory at Chievo Verona on Wednesday, says goal hero Robert Acquafresca.

The Rossoblu became the first team to win in Verona this term after sides such as Napoli, Genoa and Juventus had all failed to do so.

"We looked at each other during half-time and we knew that we had to be more alert in the second period," said the former Under-21 international.

"We were much more aggressive after the break and hungrier to take home the three points with us.

"This victory demonstrates the value of this squad and our work. And it's always nice to score the winning goal…"

Bologna have pulled themselves out of the relegation zone with two wins since Stefano Pioli replaced Pierpaolo Bisoli on the bench three weeks ago.
