Notoriously fiery Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini assures there's “no drama” in their early Europa League exit.

The Sicilians were knocked out at the first hurdle, losing on away goals to Swiss outfit Thun in the preliminary round.

“The problem with Italian clubs is that in these preliminary rounds we have to face teams who have already been playing League football for a month,” Zamparini told Sky Sport Italia.

“If we were facing Thun in a few weeks, we'd have won nine out of 10 times.”

This elimination raised fears Zampa would wield the axe on new Coach Stefano Pioli.

“He doesn't know the team well enough yet. If we look to the Serie A season, then this exit could do us good, because we'll have more time to prepare for it.

“The bookmakers say Pioli will be the first Coach sacked this term, but that's just because I have the reputation of going through tacticians.”
