Juventus' hopes of signing Giuseppe Rossi have come to an end. "Villarreal have taken him off the transfer market," said his agent.

Juve have been in talks with the striker and his Spanish club over a proposed move, but the deal has now collapsed.

"Giuseppe Rossi has officially been taken off the market after they sold Santi Cazorla to Malaga," Federico Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia.

"The economical problems which the club had have now been resolved by that [€19m] transfer.

"Nevertheless, this decision has liberated Rossi as he's now just focusing on playing football and scoring goals.

"He's not used to being at the centre of such negotiations and tension," continued Pastorello.

"He wanted Juventus, but he's accepted the position taken by the President of Villarreal."

Rossi becomes Juve's second striker miss of the summer after Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero joined Manchester City.

The Bianconeri are now expected to make a move for Mirko Vucinic seeing as he wants to leave Roma.
