Claudio Marchisio will reportedly sign a new contract with Juventus by the end of this month.

The Italian international is presently committed to the club until June 2014, but the new agreement will be for longer and will also see his salary increase.

Marchisio, despite his standing as a future captain of the side, only earns around €1m a campaign in Turin. To put that into perspective, just four players at Vinovo currently earn less.

Turin-born Marchisio, who has been a Juventus fan all his life, is a product of the outfit's youth academy.

He was given his chance with the club during their Calciopoli related Serie B campaign of 2006-07 and then spent the following season on loan at Empoli.

The midfielder returned to base in 2008 and he's now almost assured of a regular starting shirt.
