Now Corriere dello Sport is reporting that talks have collapsed, and the deal will not be completed.
The newspaper reports that, following losses of €94m last year, holding company Fininvest is only willing to put in €50m this year, with losses likely to exceed that following heavy investment in the summer.
It’s unlikely another investor would be willing to invest at the level Mr Bee had agreed to, so President Silvio Berlusconi is likely to have to cover the losses himself.
The former Prime Minister, in the year of the 30th anniversary of his takeover of the Diavolo is likely to step-in, but cutbacks are expected for the years ahead.
According to Corriere dello Sport the club will instead focus on developing youth team players, as they’ve done with Gianluigi Donnarumma.
