Sampdoria have 42 points in the Serie A table, while the Giallorossi sit seventh with 55, just three more than Sassuolo, who are still hoping to qualify for Europe.

“Five games are remaining and if we want to reach 52 points, we must pick up good results in the next two games,” Thorsby told Sky Sport.

“The Roma game will be challenging. They lost their last match and would want to put in a great performance against us.

“However, we want the same, we feel well and we played the last five-six games in the way we want. Now, we must continue.”

Thorsby, 24, has three goals in 32 appearances in all competitions with the Blucerchiati so far this season.
