Napoli have released a video showing the shoddy state of the club’s dressing rooms, just two days before their match against Sampdoria.
Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti expressed his fury in a strongly-worded statement on Tuesday, before the council hit back that only ‘a few doors and bits and bobs’ needed attention.
That was followed by Filomena Smiraglia – the architect in charge of renovating the San Paolo – insisting the Partenopei had ‘complimented’ her for the work carried out.
However, the club responded in a tweet: “Napoli deny Vice-President Edoardo De Laurentiis complimented Dr. Filomena Smiraglia for renovation work on the dressing rooms at the San Paolo.”
To emphasise Ancelotti’s stance further, they have put out a video clip that appears to show the dressing rooms resembling more of a building site.
It comes despite Napoli hosting Sampdoria in their first Serie A home game of the season on Saturday and then Liverpool in the Champions League 72 hours later.
