Gennaro Gattuso is back on track after two consecutive victories against Sampdoria and Genoa, but the pressure isn’t off his shoulders yet.
The change of formation to use Higuain and Cutrone together has so far paid off, with Suso and Diego Laxalt pumping in the crosses.
However, Lucas Biglia has been ruled out for a couple of months with a torn calf muscle, with Giacomo Bonaventura, Hakan Calhanoglu, Davide Calabria and Mattia Caldara also absent.
That means Tiemoue Bakayoko is given the keys to the Milan midfield, while Cristian Zapata is chosen ahead of Mateo Musacchio at centre-back.
Udinese have hit the skids recently, managing one point from their last five Serie A games.
Lukasz Teodorczyk, Giuseppe Pezzella, Svante Ingelsson and Emmanuel Badu are on the treatment table, with Bram Nuytinck only fit for the bench.
De Paul has been decisive so far this season, earning him a place in the Argentina squad, which is more than Higuain can say this week.
He supports Italy international centre-forward Kevin Lasagna, but Seko Fofana and Valon Behrami are surprisingly benched.
However, Antonin Barak pulled out with a back problem during the warm-up and therefore Fofana will be in the starting XI.
The last Milan clean sheet in Serie A was 0-0 at home to Napoli on April 15, leaking goals in their next 16 matches. That is their worst defensive run since 1946-47.
Milan have conceded in each of the first 10 Serie A rounds, something they hadn’t managed since 1932-33, and are the only side in the league without a clean sheet this season.
