A statement from the Portuguese club has confirmed the deal isn’t off, but has been postponed by four months, the time it’s expected to take for his full recovery.

They reached an agreement for Perin to remain in Turin and undergo treatment, making the move to Benfica in December or January.

Perin had a history of injury problems, rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in both knees and undergoing surgery on his shoulder twice.

It’s reported the shoulder is the issue that caused the problems in his medical tests.
