The striker found the net in today’s 3-0 victory away to SPAL, his maiden Serie A goal for the club since a summer move from Sampdoria.

“Finally, I had been waiting for too long,” Schick told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium.

“I want to work for the team and then the goal will arrive. I didn’t start the way I thought, as I had a lot of injuries, but now I can work without problems and I’m happy.”

There were suggestions he had the final touch on Radja Nainggolan’s strike too.

“No, I did try, but I couldn’t reach the ball! It was tough today and very hot, so it was important to get the win.

“Now there’s Liverpool, we must prepare for that game and have the same attitude we did against Barcelona. The Coach always talks to us, he’s a good person and ensures the players all feel he has faith in them.”
